(Went for another walk, this time to a junk dealer, great for sculpture supplies, ie all kinds of “stuff”, Steve Hudak, you would be in heaven. Then we marched on to the marine museum. Some neat stuff for Rod to see.)

Mooring ball in Nyack, race night at the club. Oliver spent the evening playing computer games while Rainer and I socialized with club members after dinner at the clubhouse.

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Nyack to New York with short stop at a club near the Washington Bridge (due to high waves and wind caused by wind, tide and current all in opposition with a bit of rain to make things interesting) )where we met people from Jacksonville, FL. Spent the afternoon in New York City. Walked from 79th Street all the way to 46th Street and then to Times Square followed by dinner at Bubba Gumps Shrimp Restaurant and a cab ride back to the marina.

Friday, September 18th, 2009

New York City, Birdland!!! Spent the morning doing laundry after we decided to spend an extra night. Contacted Stephanie and arranged to get together in the evening. Walked into the city and had “street meat” in Central Park for lunch. Did a little shopping and grabbed a cab back to the boat to get ready for the evening outing. Brandon and Stephanie picked us up at around 7:30 and we headed into the city for an incredibly memorable evening. Went to Birdland and enjoyed incredible jazz and excellent food. Stephanie and Brandon came back to the boat with us and we popped open a bottle of bubbly.

September 13th Birthday tomorrow! We left Castleton and now were in Kingston NY, I went out and got some Italian ice-cream which was decent, and I had a long walk around the town. I started reading the book “animal farm” its meh.

September 14th. Happy birthday to me, Today Catherine rainer and I stayed in Kingston for my birthday! We had a lot of fun today and went out for dinner. We went to a nice restaurant and I had surf n turf, soup, and a salad. I was completely stuffed and couldn’t finish the dessert I got for my birthday… Good birthday.

September 15th: Today we left Kingston and arrived in And arrived in NYACK. We stayed on a mooring ball in Nyack. Catherine Rainer and I Went for a long walk around the town, which was nice. We ate subway and I got a subway card.

September 16th: Nyack again, didn’t do much today. I spent a bit of time on my computer though, it was raining and ugly

September 17th: Today was terrible. For the beginning of the day! We had to make a pit stop, which was annoying. We then went to NYC. We went around the whole time square it was a lot of fun.

September 18th: Today we were originally going to leave NYC but we didn’t, so I was really happy. Today we got to see Stephanie and we went to a really nice jazz club, I actually enjoyed it. We had a lot of fun tonight.
